Can you tell us how are you deleting the story and from where? Please list the steps you went through to be able to understand the issue and help!

You answer does not help me. I need to know from where you are discarding the story and if it is the only story in this category and any other information that helps narrow down your issue.

I am asking all this because I discarded a story in a category and subcategory from all the places an admin can do it and never got any error.

I have seen the same thing.
1. in News Management,
2. Click on any title
3. while in the Article
4. Select the Gear, Discard
5. I get 404 Not found "/News"

I just did, again, what you described and it went to the category that the story was in.

We need more info, as I stated in my reply earlier.
Is it the only story in this category and any other information that helps narrow down your issue.

hi
today i test it in local computer
i had 3 posts in a category
i opened one of them
and click to discard
and after delete
got that error
Object not found!

the problem is:
after deleting , this url comes:
http://127.0.0.1/k352/child-3-1

but the correct url is:
http://127.0.0.1/k352/?categor.....=child-3-1

i think, maybe there is conflict between true url and seo url.
it seems after deleting site goes to seo url.

i did not enabled seo method yet.

thank you.

I am working on it and will modify the code to counter measure any glitch, taking into consideration the URLMETHOD in the SEO settings.

Once I finish I will post the solution here!

I moved the topic from the general support to Bug Reports.

Thank you all for bringing this issue to our attention!

After further investigation to reproduce the errors, I found that the bug exists when the SEO URL Method is set to the default 1. The code that existed since the Pligg days was done in a way that redirects the user, after discarding a story, using the SEO URL Method 2 URL construction, which obviously generated an error in the redirection!

However, testing it in SEO URL Method 2 works but in an unfriendly logic: it always redirects to the Category of the discarded story, no matter where you were on the site! Obviously, this presents a user unfriendly experience because we always MUST redirect the users discarding a story to where they were on the sie,
EXCEPT WHEN THE REFERRER IS THE STORY PAGE, THEN WE REDIRECT THEM TO THE STORY CATEGORY because the story no longer exists!

Before we dive in the accurate Story discarding process, I would like to stress on one very important rule:

1- When using SEO URL Method 1 "htaccess.default" MUST NOT be renamed and edited
2- If you used SEO URL Method 2 and renamed and edited htaccess.default to .htaccess, and reverted back to SEO URL Method 1, then YOU MUST RENAME .htaccess to htaccess.default

Keeping .htaccess file while in SEO URL Method 1 will cause some problems in some part of your site!

I made the following sheet to show you how the proper and accurate redirection must be, from every possible location where you can discard a story (see the picture)

https://www.kliqqi.com/img/discarding-story.png

Also, this video shows you step by step the comparison of discarding the Story, the current code Vs. the modified code!

Please do the following:
1- Rename the file /delete.php to /delete-original.php
2- copy the content of the modified delete.php file from the link (by clicking on the "raw" link in the grey tab or scrolling down to "RAW Paste Data") and paste it in a text editor and save it to the root of your CMS installation as delete.php

Test thoroughly in both SEO URL Methods 1 and 2.
