A: First make sure it is a bug and not an isolated incident. Bugs are considered reproducible on across many Kliqqi installations. If you have found a bug please report it here and provide us with the steps to reproduce it.
Q: Why did you create this fork of Pligg CMS?
A: The owner of the Pligg domain wanted to move onto other projects and got tired of maintaining it. We can respect that, and thank Eric for his years of hard work and dedication. However with the lack of interest came a lack of direction and Pligg fell into disarray. The worst thing for a developer is to not have any direction. We could no longer foster growth and feature expansion in that environment. We hope the new owners of Pligg can pull it out of it’s downward spiral and wish them luck in the future as we take Kliqqi into a new direction and focus.
Q: How do I install Kliqqi on my web server?
A: After you’ve downloaded Kiqqi from our website. Unzip the file and upload the contents of that file to your web server. Next go to yoursite.com/readme.html and follow the detailed installation instructions.
Q: What is the troubleshooter?
A: The troubleshooter link at the top of the Kliqqi readme.html provides you with a tool to make sure your Kliqqi files are all in the correct place and have the proper permissions. It is advisable to run the troubleshooter tool before installation to help you avoid any issues.
Q: How do I make my first submission?
A: Click on the submit link in the top menu. Depending on how you have configured your submission settings from the Kliqqi dashboard you will be taken to either a page asking for a link to submit, or directly to submission step 2 where you can manually type your headline and story. You can change these setting by going to your Kliqqi admin dashboard, settings, submit. Require a url when submitting? Yes or No.
Q: What is the difference between published and new?
A: When you submit a story it goes into the “new” area. New submissions require a minimum threshold of votes before they reach the front page and are considered published. Once a story receives the configurable amount of votes you’ve chosen it moves to the front page and is considered “published” at this point. The default value of “votes to publish” is 5 and can be set under the dashboard > settings > votes > However you can also get more specific and customize each category to have it’s own value. You can also set a karma value to publish. These advanced values can be found in the Manage > Categories > section of the admin dashboard.
Q: What is Karma?
A: Karma is the magic behind Kliqqi. Everything is assigned a score. Stories, comments, users, etc. In fact there are currently 9 different karma values that can be customized by going to your Kliqqi dashboard > modules > karma module>
Q: What is Kliqqi Premium?
A: Kliqqi Premium is a subscription service that gives you access to a large variety of modules, templates, tool, instructional videos, how-to documents, and private forums. You’ll also get access to the latest and greatest versions of Kliqqi approximately 6 months before the general public. You’ll get priority access to new features first. You’ll also continue to get updates to those modules and templates as long as you’re a member.

A: You want your site to succeed right? Kliqqi Premium gives you the tools to create the best site possible. We also want your site to succeed. Kliqqi Premium is also a way of supporting our goals to bring you the very best social publishing platform in the world. Q: Why can’t I buy a module or template individually?
A: We were both developing for Pligg CMS and understand the business model around selling items individually. It honestly just doesn’t work. We actually had people that would purchase a simple $1.99 module and expect free updates 10 years later. A development project such as Kliqqi or Pligg simply can not sustain itself with that business model. We serve a very specific audience and the premium modules or templates require constant time and attention to maintain. We need to cover our overhead and expenses to achieve long range stability.
Q: Can I cancel my subscription?
A: Yes absolutely, you can cancel at any time. You will however lose access to updates, new features, modules, templates, and early access to Kliqqi versions at the end of your membership period. You should also be aware that as web hosts update to php 7 over the next year, support for mysql is being depreciated in php 7. So maintaining properly updated versions of Kliqqi and it’s modules will be absolutely necessary if you plan on having any sort of web presence. The depreciation of MySQL will be one of the largest transitions the internet has seen in a long time. Practically every content management system currently uses MySQL. We are already planning for the transition and will be providing updates to our Premium members first.
Q: How much does Kliqqi Premium cost?
A: You get access to everything for only $99.99 a year. This is more than half the price of any other Premium CMS subscription service.
Q: How long is my subscription good for?
A: Subscriptions are automatically renewed 1 year after your initial purchase date.
Q: Is my credit card data safe?
A: We do not keep your credit card data on any of our servers. We use Stripe for our payment gateway. Stripe is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1, the most stringent level of certification. No sensitive data even touches our servers.
Q: Can I use Paypal?
A: No, sorry we do not accept Paypal and have no plans on adding it in the future.
